How something small can be grand at the same time, is nothing short of staggering. The vegetable Kingdom’s richness of (sensual) forms stimulates and intrigues. All sorts of questions arise, like how do I treat nature, why do I destroy nature, in what way did I experience nature as a child and what’s left of that?
In 1999 I started working on a collection called ‘SEED’. As it grew it became an important part of my life. Sometimes I translate worldwide hurt to seed. Or I experience connections, for instance between manipulated seed and oppression of women. The stories are endless and often close to my soul. Despite my curiousity and wonder, I still haven’t found many answers to the questions I started this collection with. Sometimes this can be disturbing, at the same time I ask myself if it is possible to find these answers at all. Maybe I should dive into the Why of the questions?
